Som-A-Press just one simple moving part!
The Som-A-PressŪ is the heart of the Som-A-SystemŪ. With just one simple moving part, it provides almost maintenance-free operation.
The feed enters at the inlet flange (1) and a variable-speed auger (2) carries the waste stream vertically along a dewatering screen barrel, with most of the free liquid being discharged through screen openings.
As solids are conveyed upward, they build up, forming a plug. (3)The solids are pushed from the discharge chute (4) by a revolving plug cutter and fall directly into a convenient haul-away container, truck or conveyor.
Liquid pressate passes through the screen, falls to the base plate, and then is discharged through an outlet.(5)
Inside, screen surfaces are constantly cleaned by a synthetic fiber brush on the edge of the auger. Continuous wash water is not required.
