Our Somat units do a real good job for us. In fact, we've had several people here on tours to see the system. They've been very impressed with it. Larry Fulkerson St. Francis Hospital

Food Service / Pulpers Overview / Close Coupled / Remote Pulpers / Hydra-Extractors / Super 60
Remote pulpers
Maximum flexibility for collecting waste.

Somat remote pulpers are part of a system comprised of a pulper (or pulpers) and a remotely located Hydra-extractor
separated over a distance by interconnecting piping and wiring. Unit separation distances may be as close as a
few feet, across a room or several hundred yards away. Units can be located on differing floor levels. Maximum separation
distances are limited only by the practical aspects of pumping the food waste slurry, and with proper design long distances can be accommodated.
How does it work?
Use of a remote pulper and Hydra-extractor system allows maximum flexibility for collecting foodservice waste into a centralized point
for optimum disposal capability. With a Somat remote pulper/Hydra-extractor, foodservice waste enters any number of pulpers, from one to
about 15 maximum, where the waste is mixed with water for processing into a pumpable slurry consisting of 5% solids and 95% liquids. The slurry is pumped through a pipeline to the remotely located Hydra-extractor where most of the water is removed and the resultant semi-dry pulp is discharged. The extracted water is recovered and pumped back to the pulper for re-use in a efficient manner. Somat Remote Pulpers are available in several sizes and configurations, including under-dish-table and tray-feed models. Contact us for your specific needs.
