ecoSHRED Compostable Waste Shredder
Somat's ecoSHRED Compostable Waste Shredder is a unique waste management system that can process waste for medium-sized foodservice 
operations by shredding and dewatering waste material. The ecoSHRED is easy to install, operate and maintain. It requires no special plumbing or a continuous water supply. It is extremely energy efficient, using only 40% of the energy of a standard pulper. When used for food waste and compostable material, it is ideal for pretreatment of waste prior to composting.
How does the ecoSHRED Work?
- Waste is placed on a conveyor belt and sent through a tunnel to a powerful grinding mechanism that will cut and grind up the waste.
- The shredded and ground-up waste is dropped to a tank where excess water is drained off.
- The mixture is then sent through a vertical auger where the mixture is dewatered and compacted.
- The end product is a light, compact waste mixture ideal for composting.
